Guest editors for this edition of the journal are Prof. Phd. Michael Sofer (Department of Geography and Environment, Bar-Ilan University, Israel) and  Phd. Alon Gelbman (Department of Tourism and Hospitality Studies, Kinneret College on the Sea of Galilee, Israel). 

Journal of Tourism Challenges and Trends invites academics and professionals in tourism to send manuscripts for publication consideration in the next issue of the journal, dedicate to rural tourism. This form of tourism has been increasingly more popular among tourists of all types. In the same time, the competition is higher.

The objective of this issue is to investigate the trends in rural tourism all over the world.

Articles could focus on areas such as
– forms of rural tourism
– good practices in the field of rural tourism
– tourist behavior
– authenticity in rural tourism
– impact of tourist flows on local communities
– trends in positioning strategies in rural tourism

Additional topics and approaches are encouraged.

Call for papers – theme: Tourism Assisting Sustainable Development
Submission deadline: March 10th, 2010

Journal of Tourism Challenges and Trends invites academics, researchers and practitioners to submit manuscripts for the next issue of the journal, dedicated to various impacts that tourism and tourists have. The journal aims to present results of advanced research and practice in the field.

A wide range of research topics could be included such as the following:
– the economic outcomes of tourism
– the impact of tourism on host communities
– the interactions between tourists and locals
– the relationships between tourism and environment, both built and natural (including protected areas)
– resort development and sustainable development
– tourism ethics related to sustainable development
– best practices analysis. Case studies are wellcomed

Related topics and approaches are also encouraged.
