As global environmental awareness grows, hotels increasingly adopt green certifications such as LEED, Green Key, EarthCheck, and ISO 14001 to validate their environmental performance. However, the customer perception and actual behavioral impact of these certifications remain complex and multifaceted. This study explores consumer awareness, perception, willingness to pay (WTP), and booking behavior regarding green-certified hotels. Drawing on existing literature, hypothetical data, and sustainability frameworks, the article evaluates the effectiveness of certifications in influencing guest decisions. Results indicate that while consumers appreciate eco-friendly operations, many lack knowledge of certification systems. Young travelers, eco-conscious tourists, and high-income guests demonstrate stronger preference for certified hotels. The findings highlight the need for effective communication, transparent reporting, and consistent standards to strengthen consumer trust and market impact.
