Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic severely disrupted global tourism, causing unprecedented declines in international travel, hospitality revenues, and destination mobility. As the industry transitions into a post-pandemic phase, destinations have adopted diversified strategies to restore traveler confidence, re-establish economic stability, and accelerate sustainable tourism growth. This research article reviews post-pandemic recovery strategies using case studies from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania. It integrates policy analysis, recovery frameworks, and hypothetical datasets to assess which strategies achieved the greatest impact. Results show that the most successful destinations employed multi-pronged approaches involving health-safe travel protocols, digital transformation, domestic tourism promotion, sustainability integration, and public–private partnerships. Emerging trends include contactless tourism, hybrid virtual experiences, and resilience-oriented destination management.
