Service robots have emerged as a transformative force in the hospitality and tourism sectors. From automated check-in systems to delivery robots, concierge AI, cleaning robots, and humanoid attendants, robotics is reshaping guest experience, operational efficiency, and service quality. This paper provides a systematic review of tourism robotics, examining technological development, adoption patterns, customer acceptance, economic impacts, and ethical considerations. Using data from 1,500 tourist surveys, interviews with 60 hotel managers, and analysis of 32 global case studies, this review identifies both opportunities and challenges. Findings indicate that robots enhance efficiency, accuracy, and safety—particularly during the COVID-19 era—yet issues remain concerning job displacement, lack of human touch, technical failures, and cost barriers. The paper provides future research directions and strategic recommendations for integrating robotics in hospitality.
